Valencia Town Center has announced a bowling alley and a Korean hot pot restaurant, while other new businesses have already opened elsewhere in Valencia this year.

Centennial, the Dallas-based company that bought Valencia Town Center in 2023, announced ten new tenants on April 30, 2026: Round1 Bowling & Arcade, KPOT Korean BBQ & Hot Pot, Bushfire Kitchen, Bacio di Latte gelato, Slice House by celebrity pizzaiolo Tony Gemignani, Wafflecomb, an electronics and jewelry retailer called Trelen, the longtime Southern California skate shop Pharmacy Boardshop, and expansions for J David and Pandora. The announced tenants have different opening timelines. For local plans, the businesses and events listed below show what is already open or scheduled.

What's already open, quietly

While Valencia Town Center works through a multi-year redevelopment, two of the year's newcomers are open somewhere else entirely.

CAVA opened its Valencia location at 27055 McBean Parkway in the Valencia Promenade shopping center in early March 2026. That's a separate property from Valencia Town Center, on the other side of McBean.

Yard House followed on April 19, 2026, taking over the former Mimi's Cafe site at the River Oaks Shopping Center on Magic Mountain Parkway. The project meant demolishing the old building and constructing a new one designed specifically for Yard House, part of an ongoing effort by city officials to refresh the River Oaks commercial corridor. If you drove past that corner earlier this year and saw fencing, that's what was going on. The corner is done now, and it's been open for months.

Neither opening was part of Valencia Town Center's redevelopment; both took place at separate properties elsewhere in Valencia.

Valencia Town Center's opening timeline

The announced Valencia Town Center tenants are at different stages, and most have not opened yet.

Round1 is the headline addition, taking over the former Sears anchor in what would be a 125,000-square-foot entertainment complex with bowling, professional-grade billiards, karaoke, and arcade games imported from Japan, plus a planned Spo-cha sports zone and a YUU Japanese Food Hall. It's a genuinely large project. It's also, according to Round1's own March 2026 announcement and confirmed on the mall's Wikipedia entry, anticipated to open in early 2027, not this year.

The site saw little redevelopment activity for years after a 2019 plan for a Costco and luxury cinema at the former Sears location fell through in 2021. The Santa Clarita City Council approved a more flexible redevelopment framework for the roughly 111-acre mall in June 2024. By a February 2026 budget meeting, Round1 construction was underway, while the broader Town Center Specific Plan was still absent from the city's own five-year budget conversation; council members discussed ways to move redevelopment forward and asked the mall's team to identify a concrete step for the coming year.

The announced projects have different timelines. KPOT, Bushfire Kitchen, Slice House, and the rest of the April lineup came with a general window of 2026 and 2027, not confirmed dates. If your Saturday plans depend on karaoke at Round1 or hot pot at KPOT, the announced timelines don't give you a confirmed date for either.

Fall events in Old Town Newhall

If you want something to do this month that isn't waiting on a construction crew, Old Town Newhall has already scheduled it.

The SENSES Block Party runs on Main Street every third Thursday from April through September, and the September 17 installment goes Oktoberfest, with stein-holding contests, barrel rolling, carnival games, and an on-street bar run by The Old Town Junction. It's the last one of the season before the block party goes quiet for the winter, which makes it a real date on the calendar rather than a placeholder.

The Old Town Newhall Farmers Market runs every Saturday, year-round, rain or shine, in the Old Town Newhall Library parking lot from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. It's been running since 2015, long enough that it's less a seasonal event and more a fixture of how Saturday mornings work in this part of Santa Clarita, with small family farms and local food artisans selling produce, meats, and baked goods.

Further out, Light Up Main Street returns to Old Town Newhall on November 21 from 4 to 8 p.m., with food trucks, live entertainment, and the annual lighting of Main Street for the holidays. It's not a fall event exactly, but it's the next fixed point on the calendar after the SENSES season wraps, and it's worth marking down now if you're the type who plans around these things.

These events are scheduled for this month, while many of the mall's announced additions remain in development.

The different timelines are the story

Here's the pattern once you line it up. Valencia Town Center's announced projects remain at different stages: Round1 is under construction, with an early 2027 opening expected, while other tenants have a general 2026 and 2027 window without confirmed dates. CAVA and Yard House are already open at separate properties. That's not a knock on Valencia Town Center's ambitions. Centennial has been explicit that it's building toward a live-work-play destination over the long run, and a 125,000-square-foot arcade and food hall inside a former anchor store is not a small lift.

But if you live here and you're wondering what changed this year, the picture has two parts. Many of the mall's announced additions remain in development, while CAVA and Yard House are open along McBean Parkway and Magic Mountain Parkway.
